Pandorea jasminoides (Bower Vine)
An evergreen woody climber native from eastern Queensland to northeastern New South Wales, Australia, it is commonly known as bower vine. It grows in tropical and subtropical rainforest and can climb about sixteen feet. Clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers form at the ends of branches. The flowers are white to pale pink, usually with a crimson or purple throat, and have conspicuous hairs inside the tube. In its Australian range, flowering extends from late spring into summer. The woody, boat-shaped capsules split open to release numerous papery, winged seeds. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
