Megaskepasma erythrochlamys (Brazilian red cloak)

A large shrub originating from the lush rainforests of Venezuela, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and El Salvador, with red bracts from which small white flowers emerge. It is invasive in northwest Ecuador. Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Central).
