Jasminum multiflorum (Star Jasmine)
Native from the Indian subcontinent to Indochina, this evergreen scrambling shrub is cultivated across tropical and subtropical regions. Its softly hairy stems and leaves give it the alternative name downy jasmine. Clusters of white flowers have six to eight spreading lobes and are less strongly scented than those of many other jasmines. In southern Florida it can flower through most of the year. Grown in gardens and containers, it is propagated from stem-tip cuttings. Photographed in Jamundi, Colombia.
