Native to the regions of Ecuador and Peru, and cultivated as an ornamental tree in Quito and Bogotá. Flowers in white or different shades of pink. Identified as the national tree of Ecuador. Photographed in Quito, Ecuador where it is a popular garden tree and Bogotá, Colombia.
