Brassicaceae (Mustard Family) (species unidentified)
This family consists mainly of annual, biennial, and perennial herbs, with a few shrubs. Its members occur almost worldwide, with the greatest diversity in temperate Eurasia. Their flowers usually have four petals arranged like a cross and six stamens, four longer than the other two. Leaves are alternate and often form a basal rosette. The dry seedpods commonly split into two valves, leaving a thin partition between them. The family includes vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, radish, and turnip, as well as ornamental plants. Photographed in Colombia.
